If results day didn't go as you had hoped, don't panic!
Sometimes things don't go the way you had planned, and if your results aren't what you had hoped to receive, then there are a few things you can do to make sure it doesn't happen again:
- What went wrong the first time around?
The best place to start is to take a step back and think about why you weren't successful the first time around.
Did you give yourself enough time to revise? What topics didn't you understand? Did your revision techniques work for you?
- Map out a timetable
Create a revision plan starting now so you are giving yourself enough time to revise before your resit. Make a note of what revision needs to be done and tick things off as you go.
- There's no time like the present
It may seem like you've got ages but starting sooner rather than later will really help, you don't want to have to cram in loads of revision into a few days.
- Don't waste time
Prioritise topics that you have struggled on so you don't waste time going over things you already know. Turn off your phone or put it in a different room, scrolling through your news feeds will just waste time.
- Treat yourself
Just because you have to revise, it doesn't mean you can't do anything else. Having rewards for completing revision will give you the motivation you need. After a day of revision go meet friends or watch your favourite film as a treat.
- Soundtrack your revision
Just like music can get you in the mood for a workout or night out, it can put you in the right mindset to revise. The right tempo and volume can even make you work more productively. Find out what music suits your revision best.
Hopefully following these six steps will get you resit success, just give it your all and your hard work will pay off!
