How I survive exam season at university

By AmyHBlogger 08 May 2018

Exam season can be stressful but there are little ways to make it that bit easier...

I kept a diary during my last exam season to remind myself how I stayed positive so have a read - it might come in handy.

MONDAY
The most daunting day of the week! I make a to-do list for the week including subjects to revise but social events going on too. I’m very visual so I highlight different tasks in different colours i.e. social stuff in pink, English revision in blue. You get the gist...

TUESDAY
I'm not the sort of person that can do one thing constantly so I mix up my revision topics. This also means I won’t panic next week when I realise I only focused on my first exam. In the evening I go to the pub with my friends, not to drink lots because even a tiny hangover would hurt but it makes me feel so much better getting out for a bit.

WEDNESDAY
Today I focus on going over everything for my exam tomorrow. I read over all of my notes and then get an early night with a salted caramel tea and watching some youtube videos (Lily Pebbles is my current fave).

THURSDAY
Exam day. My exam is at 1pm so instead of stressing about revising all morning and burning out too soon I make myself a nice breakfast. I don't want to be in a dreaded food coma, so I eat around 11ish to get the benefits of breakfast rather than the tiredness.

FRIDAY
This is a slow start but I deserve a lie-in now that I've got my first exam out of the way. I fancy a cheeky little treat so I decide to meet my friend for coffee at one of our favourite cafes. Exam season is all about balance!

Remember that it's only a few more weeks to go and YOU'RE FREE!
